Granola

Eating granola has more benefits for you than you may think. The oats the granola contains is all out whole grain food. This alone is good for your body because it gives the body energy to get through your daily doings meanwhile it also makes you feel full for longer time. Many granolas also contains nuts which contains the "good" kind of fat and the omega-3 that helps you avoiding heart diseases! Told short; adding granola to your daily diet is doing yourself a favour!

There is many different ways to eat granola. Many people pour in into a bowl, soak it in milk and then eat it. Personally I prefer eating it on the top of my greek yogurt. I've tried bunches of different types of granola, both bought and homemade. About a half a year ago I found a recipe on a absolutely delicious granola and that one special granola has become my absolute favourite and I keep making it over and over again!

Are you quite a granola lover as me or do you just feel like trying some new topping for your yogurt, follow the easy recipe below! Trust me, you won't regret it!

Ingredients:
                          • 3 dl oats
                          • 1 dl almonds or dregs from your almond milk
                          • 1/2 dl linsseed
                          • 1/2 dl sunflower seeds
                          • 1/2 dl pumpkin seeds
                          • 3 tbsp maple syrup or honey (or if you are all fancy: a combination)
                          • 2 tbsp olive oil
                          • 1 tsp cinnamon
                          • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions:

First off preheat your oven to 235ºC. Chop the almonds and mix them with the rest of the ingredients in a bowl. Spread the mix in a thin layer on a baking sheet and put it into the oven. Bake it for 25 minutes or until it begins to turn brown.
Make sure to stir every 10th minute. When done, take it out of the oven. Let the granola cool down and then put it into a airtight container.

The granola will keep in 2 weeks if it stays a slightly cool place and out of the sun.

TIP: Add unsweetened dried fruit before putting into the oven for extra flavour

Bon appétit!
